About the fight

Floyd Mayweather has officially ended his illustrious career back in 2015, but has mentioned multiple times, that he will only consider making a come-back to fight against Conor McGregor who is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. ”The only fight that makes sense to me is the McGregor fight,” Mayweather has said, “I’ve accomplished everything I want to accomplish [against the other boxers].”

Even though this world champion is 40 and “retired” for almost two years, he is considered to be the best boxer of a generation and is a huge betting favorite against 27-year-old Irishman McGregor, a mixed martial arts fighter who has never had a professional boxing fight.

Ticket Sales

The record money fight, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao in May 2015, had ticket revenue of $72.2 million by selling 16,219 tickets at MGM Arena at an average price of $4,451 each. With the venue being T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, there are 3,200 more seats to sell, which makes the projected ticket sales reach around 77.1 million dollars!

With Las Vegas having so many attractions to offer, you can easily build an entire trip around this event! Other headliners the weekend of Friday, August 25th include comedians Steve Martin & Martin Short at Caesar’s Palace, Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood and The Chainsmokers performing at Encore Beach Club.
