John Legend: Darkness and Light Tour

Posted by Events 365 | February 15, 2017 | Music, Tour Announcements

On February 6th, John Legend announced tour dates to support his newest album: Darkness and Light. The ten-time Grammy Award winner collaborated with Brittany Howard (Lead Singer of Alabama Shakes), Chance the Rapper, Miguel  and jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington. Gallant, recently nominated for a Grammy for best urban contemporary album, will be opening for the soulful crooner.

This will be John Legend’s first tour as a new daddy. Legend informed his fans that he was bringing his baby daughter, Luna, and his wife, Chrissy Teigen along for the ride.

Although the tour does not kick off until May 12th in Miami, Legend will have had plenty of publicity in the meantime. Having just performed at the Grammy’s, Legend will also be the featured halftime performer at this weekend’s NBA All-Star Game followed by a performance at next week’s Academy Award ceremony.  La La Land, which John Legend costarred in, tied a record with 14 Oscar nominations, and is a critic’s favorite to win Best Picture. Legend, along with Ariana Grande, will also be featured in Disney’s much anticipated live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast opening on March 17th, performing a remake of the eponymous classic song.

Of the Darkness and Light tour, one song has already made a huge impact on the Billboard charts. Love Me Now has over 72 Million views on Youtube.com and has been in the top 50 on the Spotify Top Global 50 since its release in November.
