Laissez les bon temps rouler!

New Orleans will be the ultimate destination for basketball fans on Friday, Feb 17th to Sunday, Feb 19th as the city hosts the NBA’s 2017 All Star Weekend at the Smoothie King Center- home of the New Orleans Pelicans.

NBA All Star on-court festivities tips off with the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night, where the league’s top rookies and second-year players will compete in a US versus World game format.

NBA All Star Saturday Night on Saturday, Feb 18th will feature current superstars showing off their unique basketball skills through various exciting competitions including the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest & the must-watch Verizon Slam Dunk Contest where Zach Lavine will be on the hunt for an unprecedented third consecutive crown.

And on Sunday, Feb. 19th, for the 66th time, the Eastern Conference All Stars will square off against the Western Conference All-Stars. Some looming early storylines include the reunion of Kevin Durant & Russell Westbrook + a rematch of superstar tandems Lebron James/Kyrie Irving & Stephen Curry/Draymond Green.

Originally, 2017’s All-Star Weekend was scheduled to be held in Charlotte, but due to the controversy surrounding North Carolina’s “bathroom bill” the NBA awarded the game to the city of New Orleans who last played host in 2014. This will be the third time in 10 years that the Smoothie King Center will act as host.

NBA All Star Weekend tickets are on sale now and Events 365 can get your clients into the show for as little as $600 for All Star Sunday tickets up to deluxe weekend-long VIP and Hotel packages starting at around $3,700.

And bring the whole family! The NBA All Star Weekend coincides with “Family Gras” Weekend in Jefferson Parish. “Family Gras” is a free three-day festival of concerts and fun featuring local and national acts. Past performers include the Zac Brown Band, Taylor Swift, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kansas, Electric Light Orchestra, Jesse McCartney, The Drifters, and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. There will be kid-friendly activities, an art market, a beverage zone and when the family starts to get hungry head over to the Flambeau Food Court for some local culinary favorites such as jambalaya, crawfish pasta, muffulettas, and gator-on-a-stick.
