During the week of June 12-18, 2017, golf connoisseurs will gather at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisconsin, to watch the 117th U.S. Open Championship.

Every year, The United States Golf Association (USGA) puts the world’s most distinguished players to this challenging and comprehensive test, in an effort to find the ultimate champion. The winner’s name will go down in history alongside past champions like: Bob Jones, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Wisconsin’s very own Andy North.

The U.S. Open maintains its tradition of being played at the most iconic venues, with more than 35,000 spectators projected to attend.

Here’s a quick piece of history: The first US Open Golf Championship Tournament took place in 1895. It is currently one of golf’s four major championships, along with the Masters, British Open and PGA Championship.

Players are required to complete 72 holes (stroke play). Following the completion of 36 holes, field will be cut to low 60 scores (and ties). If two or more players are tied after the completion of 72 holes, the final play off will take place on June 19, 2017.

Events 365 offers different ticket options for your clients: entry pass for a specific day, morning practice, or the entire week (which also includes access to the morning practices).

About the location:

Opened in 2006, Erin Hills is located in the heart of America, making it easy for golf fans from all over the country to attend. Your clients can stay at a charming Bed and Breakfast like the Westphal Mansion Inn Bed & Breakfast or a well-known hotel such as the Hilton Garden Inn.

The nearby city of Milwaukee is placed right on Lake Michigan’s western shore, which serves as a prime location for fun and adventure for the entire family! It is known for its excellent food, interesting museums (such as the Harley-Davidson Museum with a display of famous motorcycles, including the one of Elvis Presley’s), and local breweries (many of which offer tours).

Fun fact: “Historically, the U.S. Open generates more than $120 million in positive economic impact to the host communities and region in which it is held” (erinhills.com)
