2019-20 College Football Bowl & Playoffs Games

There’s nothing quite like bowl season when there’s a college football game nearly every day for three weeks in December. According to the NCAA, over 49 million people attended a college football game last year whether student, alumni or fan. And the Playoffs are, arguably, the most exciting time of the season.

This year, the Playoffs will take place on 12/28/19. Oklahoma will face LSU at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, and Clemson will face Ohio State at the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona.

According to an ESPN ranking of all 40 bowl games, these are the top 5 most entertaining bowl games of the season:

  1. College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Playstation Fiesta Bowl
    • No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Clemson 
    • Dec. 28, 8 p.m., State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona
      • WHY?
        Expect fireworks as two unstoppable teams meet at the Fiesta Bowl! Ohio has the highest margin of victory with Clemson in a close third, and both teams QB’s hail from Atlanta and were the top recruits in the 2018 class. This will, undoubtedly, be the most exciting game before the Championship Game on 1/13. 
  2.  College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
    • No. 1 LSU vs. No. 4 Oklahoma
    • Dec. 28,  Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
      • WHY?
        History was made this year when the legendary College Football team, Alabama Crimson Tide failed to make it to the Playoffs. Their biggest rival, LSU, will instead make a show at the Peach Bowl. This team is favored to win it with an offense that is second to none. Facing LSU will be Oklahoma who hopes their reinvigorated defense will be able to secure their spot in the Championship Game.
  3. Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual
    • Oregon vs. Wisconsin
    • Jan. 1, Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California
      • WHY?
        The Rose Bowl has been a long-standing favorite among the bowl games, and it’s easy to see why. From the parade to the scenic location, not to mention all-star talent, the Rose Bowl offers all the makings of a picture-perfect New Year’s Day in Southern California.
  4. Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic
    • Penn State vs. Memphis
    • Dec. 28, AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
      • WHY?
        Enjoy an entertaining matchup between two teams perfectly suited to meet each other in this year’s Cotton Bowl. No. 10 Penn State has is second to none in preventing the opposing team from scoring points. Meanwhile, No. 12 Memphis, has a feisty team that has earned its place in the Cotton Bowl by being one of the highest-scoring teams this year.
  5. Vrbo Citrus Bowl
    • Michigan vs. Alabama
    • Jan. 1, Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Florida
      • WHY?
        Two of College Football’s legacy teams and their legendary coaches will meet in Orlando for the 2019 Citrus Bowl. For the last six seasons, we have become accustomed to seeing Alabama make a show in the Playoffs, but after their loss to Auburn, they will instead Meet Michigan at the Citrus Bowl.
