This September, the city of Atlanta, GA will debut the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a $1.6B replacement for the old Georgia Dome which served as the home of the Atlanta Falcons since 1992. With all the premier football, soccer, and other sports & popular events scheduled to play, be sure to keep an eye out for Mercedes-Benz stadium inventory on behalf of any clients heading to THE ATL.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium was designed with functionality and flexibility in mind. It features a retractable roof with seating capacity that can be expanded from 71,000 spectators to 75,000 (large enough to host to a potential FIFA World Cup), or to up to 83,000 (large enough for events like the NCAA Final Four). In the meantime, the stadium will serve as home to the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons & Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United FC. And in 2019, Mercedes Benz Stadium will play host to Super Bowl LIII.

“This building will be a game changer in many areas,” said Scott Jenkins, general manager of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. “Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a beautiful, iconic building that enhances the downtown Atlanta landscape.”

Many people are already calling it an architectural wonder. The stadium design was customized to create the best fan experience possible including ensuring entry time is no longer than 5 minutes. FIVE minutes!! The outside plaza is poised to be a popular tailgating spot for fans allowing for easy entrance and exit to and from the stadium. Additionally, the interior of Mercedes-Benz Stadium will showcase plenty of space on the concourses and will feature 23 escalators, 19 elevators and an expanded number of restroom facilities.

Upon entering, fans will immediately notice the eight-petal retractable roof which can open or close in record seven minutes (or less!). No matter where your clients sit, they will be able to look out at the city through the floor-to-ceiling windows which offer view on the downtown skyline.

Just in case the new architecture and presentation are not enough to impress your clients, the 58-foot-high, 360-degree, high-definition halo video board circling the roof is sure to take your breath away! “It’s not only the largest video board in professional sports (at 1,100 lineal feet long or nearly 64,000 square feet) it’s also the largest video board in the world!” On top of that, it will be complemented by a 100-foot-high “mega column” wrapped with a 3-Dimensional video board, as well as 1,100 linear feet of LED ribbon boards. These video features are paired with a new audio system which are sure to bring concerts to a complete new level!

To make sure you don’t miss a second of the action, this stadium is equipped with energy efficient LED sports lights, which provide a better quality of light than traditional sports lamps.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium will have more than 650 points of sale for concessions, plus twice the number of cooking stations and grill space than in the Georgia Dome, offering faster service and fresher food for hungry fans.

Aside from hosting all of the Atlanta Falcons & Atlanta United FC games, the following major events have already been confirmed to take place at the stadium:
