The season is off to a thrilling start, and just yesterday NFL commissioner Roder Goodell told reporters, “I don’t think there has been a better time to be an NFL fan. The quality of the games and the enjoyment that comes from that, I hear that from fans all the time is No. 1 for that.” To back that statement is NFL research, which tallies up a that a whopping 504 touchdowns and 4,489 points have been scored this season, which is the most on record in league history through the first six weeks.

With six weeks down and eleven to go, here are the team standings thus far:

American Football Conference
AFC East AFC North
New England Patriots Cincinnati Bengals
Miami Dolphins Baltimore Ravens
New York Jets Pittsburgh Steelers
Buffalo Bills Cleveland Browns
AFC South AFC West
Tennessee Titans Kansas City Chiefs
Houston Texans Los Angeles Chargers
Jacksonville Jaguars Denver Broncos
Indianapolis Colts Oakland Raiders

National Football Conference
NFC East NFC North
Washington Redskins Chicago Bears
Dallas Cowboys Green Bay Packers
Philadelphia Eagles Minnesota Vikings
New York Giants Detroit Lions
NFC South NFC West
New Orleans Saints Los Angeles Rams
Carolina Panthers Seattle Seahawks
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Arizona Cardinals
Atlanta Falcons San Francisco 49ers

Also, if it seems like games are ending in a tie or overtime, it’s not just you! Already in the first two months, the 2018-2019 season is on track to break the record for most overtime games in a season AND tied game in a season, with at least one overtime game having taken place in the first 6 weeks. The reason for more ties? Shorter OT periods.
